    Like the human beings using it, the computer will slowly but surely show its age through the passage of time albeit faster than a human beings lifespan. It is inevitable that after years of daily usage for whatever purpose, you will notice that there is a big difference in the amount of time it takes to perform a task between a brand new personal computer and a much used PC. This is a normal phenomenon for a computer though this can become quite a nuisance to the user. Having a tired, slow and sluggish PC is so time consuming and may prove detrimental to the task ahead. However there are ways to improve the performance of your PC. Here are 5 ways to speed up your old PC:

    1. Remove all traces of malware, spyware, adware in your PC

    The removal of these threats will help improve the performance of your PC as the presence of these items in your computer system interfere greatly with the PC’s performance and can cause great damage to the computer system itself. Also the presence of these threats is one of the major reasons why your PC’s speed is so slow. To remove any or all traces of these threats in your computer systems you must have a trusted and reliable antimalware, antivirus, antispyware and anti-adware software programs installed in your PC. These are available for download online for free or for a fee. Also, always make sure that the protection programs are updated and turn on.

    2. Delete files that are unwanted, junk, hidden or temporary

    Improve your disk space by deleting files that you have created that is no longer of used to you as well as hidden or temporary files. These files take up some memory space of your PC, deleting will free up those spaces and speed up your computer.

    3. Clean up your desktop from unused unneeded programs and software games

    One of the major reasons why a personal computer’s speed is so slow and sluggish is because of the small amount of memory and disk spaces. Several unused programs maybe taking up the a lot of memory disk space; freeing it up may result to faster performance

    Software games may be fun to have installed in your computer however it takes a lot of disk space and often results to a slower response rate from the computer. It is advisable to delete these games to free up some much needed memory and improve the performance of your PC.

    4. Scan your windows for system errors

    Sometimes the cause of computer lag is when the operating system of a particular PC is inundated with corrupted files and system errors. This often results to the decrease of your PC speed. Scanning for these errors and using this utility system will solve these problems by automatic correction.

    5. Download a software program that speed up your PC

    There are available software programs that aim to speed up PC performance by means of optimizing computer usage, programs, deleting unnecessary files, defragmenting disk space and weekly maintenance like Tune Up Utilities or other free programs. Availing or installing any of these programs will help a great deal to improving your PC speed.

      Keeping a PC in good shape is a hard job and we’re not willing to waste our time checking and fixing the system. What we need then is a program .These symptoms are often the result of a bloated registry.
